Khing Tom Som Sub Pa Rod [Ginger Pineapple Pork Ribs Soup]

Tom Som is literally "sour soup", while Sub Pa Rod is pineapple. Tom Som is native to Northern Thailand, and more commonly found at homes rather than restaurants, thus offering you a Thai home-cooked experience. Pineapple lends it's sour-and-sweet flavours to the hearty clear pork broth, while the ginger gives it a welcome burn that soothes the stomach.

A Thai idiom ตาสับปะรด (dtaa sàb-bpà-rót), literally "to have eyes like pineapples" - being able to see in all directions, akin to being able to understand more points of view and to see the whole picture, perhaps a reminder & guide to help one gain some wisdom just when we need it.

Ginger reliefs indigestion through its antibacteria qualities, while other benefits include lowering blood sugar while increasing sugar metabolism. Pineapple is also one of the main natural source of bromelain, which helps with digestion and with easing pain & swelling. Overall, the key ingredients offer anti-inflammatory benefits, thus easing most body aches, pains or wounds.
